For nearly two decades, the Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has brought together car enthusiasts from near and far for the beloved Cars Time Forgot Car Show. Over the past ten years, Lake Lawn Resort has had the honor of being the official site sponsor, hosting this spectacular event that continues to grow in size and popularity. This year, we are excited to once again open our doors and our runway for the 19th Annual Cars Time Forgot Car Show, promising a weekend full of nostalgia, excitement, and automotive excellence.
A Brief History
The Cars Time Forgot Car Show began as a small gathering of classic car aficionados at the picturesque lakefront in Delavan. What started as a modest event quickly gained momentum as word spread among car enthusiasts and the local community. The allure of vintage automobiles and the charm of Delavan drew more and more participants each year, leading to a need for a larger venue to accommodate the growing crowds.
Recognizing the potential for this event to become a regional attraction, the Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Lake Lawn Resort, a decision that marked a significant turning point for the car show. With our expansive grounds, ample parking, and convenient location, Lake Lawn Resort provided the perfect setting for the Cars Time Forgot Car Show to flourish. For the past decade, we have proudly been the site sponsor for the car show. In recent years, we have moved the show to the Lake Lawn Airport and welcome guests of all ages to admire these timeless automotive treasures.

This year’s car show promises to be the best yet, with a full schedule of exciting events and entertainment for attendees to enjoy.
Friday, July 12: Community Wide Street Dance
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a Community Wide Street Dance, a lively event that sets the tone for the weekend ahead.
- 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM: The evening begins with an electrifying performance by Gravity of Youth, a rock band from Lake Geneva. Their high-energy show is sure to get the crowd pumped up and ready for a weekend of fun.
- 8:00 PM – 10:30 PM: As the sun sets, the headliner band takes the stage. The Breakfast Club 80’s Band, a high-energy tribute band, will transport you back to the radical sounds of the 80s. Known for their spirited performances and spot-on renditions of 80s hits, The Breakfast Club will have you dancing and singing along to every song.
Saturday, July 13: Show Us What You Drive Delavan Parade & Rally
Saturday brings another day of excitement with the “Show Us What You Drive Delavan Parade & Rally.” This event is a highlight for both participants and spectators, offering a chance to see a diverse array of classic cars in motion.
- 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: The parade begins at 4:30 PM, with 50-100 classic cars making their way through downtown Delavan. Following the iconic Delavan Brick Road, each car is announced as it passes by, giving spectators a chance to learn more about these beautiful vehicles. The parade concludes at Phoenix Park, where the cars are displayed for everyone to enjoy.
- 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: The evening’s entertainment continues at the Phoenix Park Bandshell with a performance by A Long Way Home, a SUPERTRAMP tribute band. Their melodic sounds provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening in the park, surrounded by classic cars and fellow enthusiasts.
Sunday, July 14: The Main Event
The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the 19th Annual Cars Time Forgot Car Show, taking place on Sunday at the Lake Lawn Airport. This is the main event that brings car enthusiasts together for a day of automotive admiration and celebration.
- 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM: From 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Lake Lawn Airport runway is transformed into a showcase of hundreds of classic cars. Each car on display tells a story, offering a glimpse into the rich history of automotive design and engineering. Whether you’re a fan of muscle cars, vintage roadsters, or elegant luxury vehicles, there’s something for everyone at this impressive car show.
In addition to the car displays, visitors can enjoy a variety of other attractions throughout the day. The Hits DJ will be spinning tunes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, creating a nostalgic atmosphere that complements the classic cars. Food and beverages will be available under a spacious tent, providing a comfortable place to relax and refuel. Vendor and business booths will be set up for your shopping pleasure, offering everything from automotive memorabilia to unique local products.
